Default Fat Bob Fuel Question

Stupid question. I ran bike till I had 5 miles left on the tank pretty much bone dry. I filled it up and it only took like 4.1 gallons. I thought the Fat Bob was supposed to have a 5 gallon tank ?

How do you know you only had 5 miles left in the tank?

Ah. Ok. On this tank, set your trip meter at zero. Ride til the light comes on, note miles. Fill tank. Note gallons and figure your MPG. This should give you a better idea of how much gas is left in the tank and how far you can go after the light comes on, and how far your computer tells you it thinks you can. H-D's gas gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Trust the trip meter instead.
