I am planning my first 2 day trip on a stock 2010 fat bob... I know the gas gauge is not the most accurate. Approx. how many miles can I safely go at an average 65 mph??
thanx

What kind of mileage do you get at 65mph, and how big is your tank?
I know on my street Bob at 68mph consistent I can go 140 miles. I hit the red at 120 and fill up in average 3.6 gallons if I go all the way down so, if I check my fill up log, I average a little over 38 mpg which means my guage is spot on.
not sure what your fuel capacity is but on my low rider with 4.7 gal, I can go about 190mi, but if i I have 100 miles on the tank, and not sure there is gas within 30 mi, I refill just for safety.
16 fat bob I can get 190-200 but typically fill up between 120-160. Depends on your trip and where youre going just be mindful if youre in the backwoods Ive come across some gas stations that were closed.
You can get 180 for sure but keep it at around 150 just to be safe. No matter what I ride or how big the tank is or how good the seat is, I need to allow me butt cheeks to pop back out at least every 100 miles and will usually plan my stops at gas stations. That 5 gallon tank in the Fat Bob should pretty much take you anywhere you want in the USA.
