Forks are hydraulically activated, ATF is a hydraulic fluid. What's funny about that?

Ya I think tractors use tranny/hydraulic fluid in hyraulics. My ATV uses it in one of the diffs. 2.5 gallons for $20.
I was more curious what made him try it For such a small amount, I'd just buy fork oil. You read about various fads on forums, where people all love some product. People were/are using it in primary.
