Hi the 1,000 mile service is expensive, not sure i want to spend that kind of money all at once. However, I have no experience working on motorcycles whatsoever. So is it cool if i go a couple weeks without it? Oil Level is fine which makes me comfortable. I just hit 1,000 yesterday.
Thanks dude. BTW the Owners manual states word for word "the performance of new motorcycle initial service is required to keep your new motorcycle warranty in force..."
That's true, but it doesn't say you have to have it done at the dealer...
And most guys have done the first service somewhere between 800-1200 miles, so you 'should' be fine. No guarantees in life.
Thanks for replies. If anyone knows places in Nw Ohio SE Michigan that's works on Harley's that be amazing. All I know is the dealership. No friends or family around here I know ride.
I would at least have an independent do the oil, tranny and primary fluids now, since that is the biggest thing that would potentially give you an issue on as far as warranty problems go. When I bought my bike the service guy told me that no matter what I do keep records that I had the fluid changes done at the required intervals, even if you're doing the work yourself, and you shouldn't have any issues.
