Hello all, today i ordered a power commander usb III for my 04 superglide, se air cleaner and dyno power turn out slipons, got it for 259 and the price included shipping. got it from eastern performance. was just wondering how hard it is to install and if its hard to download a map into it and if anyone can recommend a good map, i also have the stage 1 download from the stealer. thanks for any help guys and girls.
its pretty easy to install. The hard part, if you follow their directions, is getting it jammed in under the seat along with all the other wire. I did manage to get it in there. If you cut the zip tie hold on to the main harness, that will allow you to move it around more in there.
Since doing so, I have moved mine. I have it velcro'd to the back of my fuse box cover. Being black, you don't even notice it there unless you look.
Its super easy to load different maps, and to tweak the existing map. Just hook up the cable, turn the scoot on, then open the software on the PC (the order noted is important).
The reason I moved my from under the seat is so I wouldn't need to pull the seat off every time I wanted to hook up... doesn't really happen that often, but if you are doing something like adjusting the 0 throttle position to get rid of some decel popping (dyno tuners typically don't adjust that column), you make and adjustment, ride, adjust, ride, adjust, ride, then get it dialed in.
Plus it makes it easier for the tuner when you go in after making another engine mod.
Somehow I managed to get in there also....but it sure is tight. One tip I got from someone on here is leave the USB cable plugged in and route it through the fuse box. That way when you go to make any changes, pull the fuse box cover and plug it right there
just wanted to let everyone know i ordered the power commander for my bike yesterday 5-21 and when i got home from work today 5-22 it was here, thumbs up for eastern performance and i only paid 259 and that included shipping.
Just got mine put on my 07 Street Bob today & I'm loving them right now. Tech did say they hurt my torque some but I still like them. Printout says
Max Power= 77.70 & Torque was 87.36. This is just with the S.E. Stage I A/C & Big Radius exhaust. PCIII seems to be working pretty good. I know some of the guys were having problems & I was afraid of it happening but so far so good.
Anybody else notice your gas mileage drop big time? I was getting about 50 MPG on the Streetbob before the PCIII and now I am lucky to hit 30 MPG. The power is great but the price of gas keeps going up.
The powercommander website doesn't have a very good selection of maps for the Dyna series. They do however have a buttload of maps for the soft tails. Can we use a map that was designed for a soft tail?
I think the best thing to do is get on the dyno & have a custom map made for your bike. I know today looking at the screen they created me a folder with my name that has all my info from the tuning. I saw about 9 other guys with foldersunder the Dyna folder with me.

thanks for the heads up on commander from eastern performance if I ever order one
