Default Dropped a screw...

Had the seat off the bike and dropped a screw in amongst the cables (how nutty!!). Pulled the battery and the plastic battery holder and still can't find it!!

I have a feeling it's fallen in behind the fuse box and all the cables in there, but can't see it. Have banged the bike around side to side etc, still no go. Is there anything in there it can damage if i just leave it?

And I've been searching all day to figure out where that screw I found below my bike belonged.

Default Black holes

I swear there are black holes on the frame.
Most likely jammed where you will never find it.
My garage floor also has black holes.

Try hard to find it. Depending on where it is, the vibration could rub through a wire. Find it now or find it later.

I feel your pain! Been there many times.

Happened just a couple days ago with my FXDC. The nut for the rear tank mount bolt slipped out of my hand and tumbled into the same void crammed with wires, down that hole underneath the seat.

This time I triumphed. 30 minutes of probing and looking with an led flashlight and I was able to extract the big nut with a telescopic magnet. Luck this time.

Hold the bike upside down and shake it!

Default Great success!

So, after about 3 hours of digging around, i finally went down the shop and bought a telescopic light/magnet and found it in about 2 minutes.

It had fallen through the cable mess and got stuck behind where the frame for that section meets the rear fender. (so near where the passenger pegs bolt in)

Now to put the bike back together...

Great tool to have handy. Dropped my battery cover screw the other day. Wouldn't have found or been able to retrieve it without it. Glad you found it!
