Brake Pads
Hello guys,
I've finish installing my Arlen Ness 15" brake rotor kit on my bike, along with CL Brakes pads front and rear, and a brake flush with Motul RBF600
Front went out smoothly, but i've got a quick question about the rear :
The inner OEM pad have a shim on the back side, but my new pads don't. Am i supposed to reuse the shim of the OEM pad or not ?

I didn't reuse the shims; I changed out my brake pads within one week of having my new Wide Glide and tossed the OEM pads in the trash; I've changed the Lyndall's several times since then. The Lyndall pads are a direct drop in replacement; you don't need to pull the shims off the OEM pads with the Lyndall pads...
Robbyville, that rear brake pin pad can be tricked with a 1/4" 12 point socket or wrench. It has to be a 12 point, though, otherwise you'll tear it up

You're exactly right; I should have quoted Robbyville's post to be clear, I know he bought Lyndall brake pads. On the Lyndall brake pads they are a direct drop in replacement; no OEM shims needed. With the brake pads the OP bought I don't know if the OEM shims will be required...

Yes I will Going for a trip this WE so I'll have plenty of time to test it ! I just hope to finish my "to do list" before leaving !
About the shim, I think I'll reuse them on the new pads. If they put it there, it must be for something lol
