weird noise
Okay, haven't been on the bike in a while, too freakin hot but finally got to ride and noticed a squeak that sounds like it is coming from the front wheel maybe?, just had yearly service done, could it be front bearings? hard to pinpoint at 60 and can't hear it below 40. Any ideas? Thanks
My front end would squeak like a mouse every once in a while when my front wheel bearing went out. It also felt like i was riding on deep sand. The first thing I would check are the front tank bolts, when they loosen even a little they start to squeak.
I have an '08 FXDC. When my front wheel bearing let me know that it was worn, it started squealing intermittently. Over the course of 150 miles, the sound became louder and more constant. If you can get the front end raised so that the wheel spins freely, you might be able to hear it, possibly using a short length of hose as a stethoscope.
Totally stupid answer but .... I had the same thing. Drove me nuts for a week. I discovered it was the Evil Spirit Bell my wife bought me dinging away from engine vibration. Worth throwing out there.
