Clayman,The bike looks awesome dude.....did you do the 1" or 2" lowering.....

Also, the Progressive instructions say to use 2 top out springs to achieve 2" lowering..... and to use 1 top out spring to lower the bike 1 inch...that seems backwards to use more sprins to lower the bike more ??? is that correct or are the instructions backwards..

Thanks

Shortening the spring spacer will not lower the front end. Itwill decrease spring pre-load and soften the front end. Not a good thing, IMO; the front end is already too soft.

Take a look at how the fork tube is assembled. The damper rod looks like a big nail; a wide head, a straight shaft, and a slightly pointed tip. The damper rod goes through the bottom of the fork tube, and is bolted to the bottom of the fork leg. There's a small spring under the head of the damper tube. To shorten the tube (and lower the front end), you need to place a spacer between the bottom of the damper tube head and the fork tube.

I lowered my Superglide by moving the tubes up into the triple tree about 3/4".

If you take a the fork tubes apart to add the lowering block, that's a good time to install Gold Valves from Race Tech. That will make the bike perform as well as it works.

Thanks. I lowered it 2 inchs, and i love it. It is by no means softer, in fact i need to change the oil. All i could find for fork oil was bardal 20w which made it a bit stiff. I think the HD standard fork oil would be about right. Its a pretty straight forward job, just read up in the service manual on fork disasembly and you will be ok.

I put on the 1" lower shocks and 1" Progressive fork kit and it handles great. While you are at it put on a Superbrace fork brace and you'll really have a handler.

I did mine and its pretty straight forward if you have a service manual. If you are just relying on the progresive instructions you will get real confused. First--do you have a service manual.
And as far as im concerned its well worth the money, it completely transforms the look of the bike.

Clayman, that is truely one of the nicest Street Bobs I've ever seen. Do you have a part number for the rear shocks? Thanks.
P.S. What pipes are those?

Does it do anything for the handling?
