To lower the bike with lowering kit you have to disassemble your forks, i just installed Progressive drop-in lowering kit, it took me 20 minutes to do it.
Drop-ins!!! Piece of cake and even easier to adjust the ride height later. You just have to unscrew the fork caps and change out the size of the PVC spacer. Easy!
Is there a dop-in kit with progressive springs without lowering? Street Bob 2008.
Yes there is and they suck. I'm taking mine out tomorrow after 2 years of himmin 'n hawin' about the money I'm putting on the shelf, man **** it. And normally I don't like being negative about anything. Whe I bought them I was promised these would help keep the front wheel on the road in a bumpy curv---- they just don't do it.
Ok, a stupid question... What is the differens between a drop-in-kit and non drop-in-kit?
I tought the job involved was to take off the top caps, remove the old springs and "drop in" the new ones. And of cource check and/or change the oil. I just don't understand what a drop-in kit is. Sound like it should make the job easier, but does it?
Drop ins are great, just installed mine a week ago. great ride now, even lowered 2 inches. Its a quick install compared to having to take apart the forks to replace the compensator springs on the dampening tube
Hi, is it okie to put in the progressive front fork drop-in lowering springs without putting in the pvc spacers that comes with it?
I find the ride quite harsher than stock after I installed the drop-in springs. Is that normal?
Well, considering the amount you are lowering your bike equals the amount of spring travel you are gonna lose, you should expect a much firmer ride than stock. This is normal.
Also, you could probably get away without running any PVC spacers. I cut my spacers down to only 1/2 inch. It lowered my bike well over 2 inches and I have only bottomed out once (going too fast at an unfamiliar railroad crossing).
