hey, has any one here changed their 07 low rider tank to 5 gal superglide custom tank so that the ignition can
be shifted from the sterring head to the dash?
who ever thought to put it on the sterring head doesnt ride much or at all
I haven't heard of anyone doing that. I don't mind where the ignition is on my Low Rider. I like having the tachometer that I would lose to put the ignition there.
i hate were it goes. someone just did a mod, moved it onto the handlebar clamp. looked dam good great to, they did it on a super glide, if i remember correctly. do a search on it, might give you a diffrent idea or something. jackyl

I agree. I definately prefer having a tachometer as well. The ignition location isn't a big of a deal for me.
Dazza,
One other thing.... you might want to consider reducing the size of your signature picture. When it's so large it throws off the forum by forcing people to scroll to the right to read your posts. Welcome to the forum!
Thanks guys, have reduced my pic as advised. I am in Australia so not sure of any difference in US models - do US low models have the ignition on the steering head as well? So you have to reach over the tank or get off the bike to turn off and when you turn off the key has to come out as it falls out if you dont?

Yes, my ignition switch is on the steering head. I can't tell in your sig pic if you have a tachomeeter below the speedometer. I was referring to the difference between the superglides and the low riders where the superglides have a switch where the tach on the low rider is located on the tank console. Even so, the switch doesn't bother me where it is. I just turn it a little past off towards the fork lock position to keep it from falling out if I'm not going to actually lock it and take it out.
thanks TBone havent tried that so I will next time, mine does have a tacho but that doesnt bother me if I lose it as my wide glide
doesnt have one so I am used to not having one. They are handy though when setting idle rpms when tuning. I am also used to having a dash mounted switch that I find more functional
