Hi guys, I'm looking at a used 2012 Superglide Custom. It seems to be in excellent shape, but I did notice one thing: My '07 Street Bob has a little green numeral 6 that comes on when I put it into 6th gear. Does the '12 SG Custom have that? It didn't go on when I test rode it.
If that's the only thing you found, don't let it stop you from buying the bike. Don't know how long you've had your Street Bob but you shouldn't need an idiot light to tell you what gear you're in, especially 6th.
Some tuners will turn off that light and just need to be tweaked to get it to work. Maybe you have one of those.
Obviously I don't know the answer for sure concerning the '12 SG but someone will come along that does.
I can't speak for a 2012 Superglide but on my 2013 Wideglide if you cycle thru the trip button functions in addition to odo, trip A & B, clock, fuel remaining I also have a digital tach and gear indicator. I leave it set here until my low fuel light comes on. Hope this helps.

Of course I don't need an idiot light to tell me that I'm in 6th gear, I'm just wondering how the thing is supposed to work. I'm chasing some electrical gremlins on my '07 right now, so maybe I'm sensitive to it. Anyway, it looks like I'm getting the bike in any case, so that's not a deal breaker. It's basically bone stock, so I'm sure it doesn't have a tuner. I'm probably going to turn the '07 into a complete bar hopper, I've got over 60,000 miles on it and it's already fairly customized, so the resale value is pretty low.

Thanks, I bet the '12 has that too, it's go the canbus electrical system. Looks like I'm going to buy it.
I cannot remember what the original speedo did in 6th gear. It was either a green 6 or little idiot light. I swapped to a HD combo speedo a few years back so I don't recall exactly but it did have a 6th gear indicator.
