Default Removing grips for new bars

Im putting new bars on my super glide, and I currently have the plain rubber grips. It seems the passenger side is glued on. Is there any chance im getting that off? Or is it time for new grips with my bars.

here's a technique to save the old grips, but not sure why.

Another way, that does work albeit a bit longer in time.. Spray wd40 down the inside of the grip, let it sit for a couple of minutes, should just twist off. That's how I got one set off a sporty last yr. Surprised me that it worked, but it did.

Getting the wd40 out of the grip, used brake parts cleaner.

What year is your Dyna? If it is a 06 you will have to take the screws out of the switch housing and kinda spread the housing apart.
I am sure that the 07's are the same.

I had to cut my stock one off. If you like that kind, they're like $5 from the dealer if I remember right.

I've been able to save the grips when removing from '06 Sportster and '03 Dyna. I did not have to spray WD40 in them either. On both, I simply started at the end where it is clamped to the bars and twisted back and forth slowly working my way toward the tip. It took about a half hour of twisting, but the glue did give way and the grips slid off with no damage.

If you have an air compressor, put the tip of the air blower {dusting Gun} under the edge of the grip at the switch block end.
Twist the grip while blasting with air.
This saves getting wd40 everwhere.
good luck
