Default Back to a Dyna...mod questions

Picked up a 14 Dyna Street Bob yesterday from a pretty good dude selling it. He had done the mods you see. Initially I was looking for an older one to complete a more bare bones bobber style rat bike. But...this one was frick'n sweet!

He was on the way to a club style build...something I'd never thought of at all really until I rode this one and started browsing the Dyna club style thread. Now, I'm interested to keep it going. These are some questions/observations I came up with after reading thru the threads;

1) fairing; the Narrow Glide Ness is what I'm after for looks and I found Conely's. I've heard the Ness is flimsy and a rifle fairing might be better?

2) shocks? On my 15 FLHXS I have Ohlins. These still the sh&t for Dynas too?

3) handlebars: these are west coast Tbars I'm sure and 10". I need 12's with my height. Can I use a riser extension or should I just swap out...maybe to the MX-T?

Thanks for answering. I've done the bobber style on my 07 FXDWG, before going to my FLHXS. So maybe continuing the club style would be different.

I just put a Arlen Ness fairing on my Wide glide. Typical ABS plastic, getting it painted. Doesnt seem that flimsy to me if you instal it correctly.

It also does a good job of getting the wind off of your chest. Surprising difference

I added DK customs riser extensions for lifting my risers/bars

Pretty sure Westcoast T bars sells spacers that do the same

1. I had a Rifle before switching to JD Customs fairing. The quality was fine as well was the mounting. But they take forever to get. There are a few quarter fairing options out there. Southeast Custom Cycles, Memphis Shades, Ness, HD, Connelly's and JDs.

2. Yes, Ohlins are still considered to be top of the line. A lot of guys go with taller shocks. I have 13in Hagon Nitros, wish I had gone 13.5.

3. Yes you can get riser extensions. I'd recommend a kit that includes the new bolts to ensure proper fitment.
