Newbie here and need Exhaust help
I ride a 1969 iron and now I'm guessing this is a completely different ball game.
I want to definitely change the exhaust first thing and after reading a bit on here I've noticed talks about a tuner being needed...don't know much at all about tuners...
I want to go with Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 Black and then also with a better breather....not sure which one on that yet.
Would appreciate some knowledge on why a tuner is needed and what to go with...maybe be suggestions on a breather too.
Thanks
Tuners allow you to adjust your fuel settings so you can add more fuel and cool the motor down. Not to mention run a more powerful/efficient tune.
if you have 450.00 I'd highly suggest power vision pro from dyno jet. You have to do some research but in my opinion, power vision has the most to offer

800 bucks on exha6
450 tuner
$??? Breather...
150-1000 on the tuner
0- god knows what on a breather
you dont have spend a lot of money. just put some, older headers, Slip-ons and, if you want get a download from a dealer.

I can't possibly recommend a Power Vision highly enough; the Power Vision and the J&S lift are the two smartest things I've bought for this bike. Check out Phat Performance for best pricing on your new exhaust and buy your Power Vision from FuelMoto; best support there is!
As far as venting crankcase gasses to atmosphere there's lots of different options; I've changed my setup a half dozen times but it's this under A/C filter setup with short hose runs that's been my favorite. DK Custom offers A/C's that vent to atmosphere and won't break your bank account. I went with their 587.
Oh, and welcome to the madness
Lot's of very knowledgeable people here in the Dyna forum. Questions, just shout out!
Like I said Im pretty sure Im going with the Vance and Hines 2 into 2 big radius and then not sure on air cleaner yet but will do that as well...I like the look of the Arlen ness twin sucker...
Anyway thats all Ill most likely ever do as far as motor mods so what do yall recommend for a tuner?
And remember this is a brand new bike with 4 miles on it...heck its not even here yet

When it comes to FI the best thing is to understand your options so you can make an informed choice. Read through this thread HERE before you make any purchase decisions so you know you're getting the right tuning device for your needs...

A "tuner" takes the place of carb jetting changes. It also may adjust your spark curve. These 2 things can have a significant change to your performance. It all depends on "who" does the tuning. If you have someone in your area that does "dyno~ tuning," that will be your ultimate power level. (Providing they know what the heck they are doing.) I don't suggest a noobie make adjustments as they can cause more harm than good. Pay the $2-300 for your custom tune. It'll be worth it.
