Additional speedo for fxdl s
Hello !
For me, considering the powerfull FXDL S , it's not safe at all and even very dangerous to have to live the road with the eyes, just to check your speed or whatever on the gauges.
As I couldn't find any solution to resolve it like the former Dyna Sport FXDX, I have done something else:
Baught a GPS speedometer and have fixed it in this strange and naked plate in the fairing.
Advantages : No modification of the stock electric wires of the bike.
Very clear to read the speed, just in front of the eyes.
It includes a total and partial km/miles count
It's retro lighted
there is a warning if you want to be warned above a certain speed.
I like it ! it works perfectly with satellites and only needs 12volts after contact.

How long do your eyes have to leave the road when you check your speedo? Takes me a split second, and if I'm riding in a situation where even a tenth of a second is too risky, then looking at my speed can wait. Seems like a lot to go through.

Nevil, even a short time is a too long time and not normal. I agree in a touring done to ride cool but not when you have 100hp on a Dyna. I miss the former fxdx and its gauges up behind the handlebar. No way to do it there because of actual the electric wires.
more eassy to read the speed with numbers instead a pointer.
.just my own opinion, and specially in order to share an idea, each of use can like or not

long enouh to get killed. That's why im moving my speedo up to my bars. No idea why hd insists on doing that stuff to dyna and softails but, not to others. Fxdx had it stock. Only takes a split second to misjudge or miss something that will change your life.
