Default help me with 07 lowrider question

i have almost 1000 miles on her and my bike seems fine, belts are tight, it should have an auto tensioner for the primary chain, so i was thinking of changing all three oils myself, and tightening a few bolts. should i do something else to it?

That is really all the dealership does.

However, many Dyna's need the neck bolt tightened (if you get a clunk in the front end on heavy braking or over uneven roads etc) - and that requires a tool.

I am considering not bringing mine in for the 5,000 mile service - because other than clutch, it is basically just fluids.

Do you have a service manual? It is helpful to verify the gaskets / o-rings required etc.

dynalo, you're right on to do your own service.
Then you know just exactly what is what.

Listen to warren's points, they are right on the money as well.

Check all of the critical fasteners even more often than the recommended intervals.

Especially the fasteners for the front axle retention.
(bottom of the right side front fork).

Tire pressure - check weekly (or even more often).

At the very least, glance at the tire condition every time you mount up.

That rubber is the only thing between you and the pavement.

Check for engine problem codes every now and then.

Don't live by the 1000 5000 10000 rule.

Always keep at least one eye on the least expected,
and always watch out for the aceholes with one hand on the steering wheel
and the other one holding the cell phone.

You're ridin an 07?? Right??
Edited to add - the subject line says 07.....duhnnhhnn

The nut is under the chrome cover in the center of your steering head - but if you look carefully in the center (where the neck bolt is) right UNDER the top triple tree, you'll see a nut with little cutouts intended for a thin tool to be inserted for tightening. Harley makes a tool to fit that.
