You'll like the PM grips. I went with the same ones on mine along with the matching foot pegs and shift peg. The grips feel a lot better than the stockers.
I love PM grips, they are the best although Ive never ran the pegs, I might do that on this bike.
Lovely bike! I almost bought one, but it's just too close to my blacked out Fat Bob. I went retro and bought a 1980 shovel instead....
My opinion (and that's all it is) is that the Thunderheader looks cheap though. I would have gone with a D&D Bob Cat or Fat Cat on it if it was mine.
I personally wouldn't do higher bars either. Those bikes look great with the drag bars. I think apes will make it look strange.
Nick's black wheels look great as well!
But of course it's your ride, so do as thou wilt!
first st of all, thank you. I love my wheels. The lrs has badass wheels as far as design goes, it's just the color that blows.
Second, the fatcat was my first choice for exhaust. I like the thunder header but have heard negative reviews as far as the heat shields finish holding up. Now that I have the fatcat, I realize there was just no other way to go. On a scale of one to ten, if rate the fatcat at a 18.
As as far as the bars go, I have some 16 inch el diablos from my street bob. I loved the street bob, that's one of the reasons I bought my lrs is cause it's so similar only it has more features (abs/security/cruise l, etc) and it was a way for me to get the 110 I so badly wanted.only now it's gonna be a 117. Anyway I removed the fairing from my lrs, it looked good and I liked it, but I wanted to use my windshield for rain/winter. So I figure when I put my apes on, it will basically look like a street bob which is fine by me. I bought shorter risers though, they are 1.5 inch risers from drag specialties, so I should be right where I was with the street bob.
Id be very interested to see what you come up with for the abs brake line, I have 16 in apes from my street bob that I can't wait to install, but the 300 bucks for a ****in brake hose is holdin me up. .
Just throwing it out there, If you don't mind a vinyl line, I went to 12" Slingshots and ran Drag Specialties p/n 1741-3828 +6 $119.00. The brake line is made for Fat Bobs with ABS and work perfect on mine with no error codes.
No ****, I've never seen any abs line so cheap. Are you using factory risers? Thanks a million man I'm gonna order one right now. What'd you use to extend the wiring?

I removed all the stock stuff and went with West Coast T-Bar 12" Slingshots. And yeah, I was suspicious myself but sure enough it works just fine.
The only thing I extended was the brake and clutch. There is enough wiring inside the backbone, just pull it out. I chose to put my Custom Dynamics on the forks, for aesthetics, but they would have been long enough to internally wire as well. Oh and the internal wiring is so much easier. No de-pinning or splicing like the old days. I just undid the connector and literally pushed them through.
I'm surprised there's enough wiring. When I put 16s on my street bob there was plenty, but that came factory with 12s. I'm puttin the same 16s on my lrs but I'm using 1.5 inch spacers. Guess we'll see what happens. Somehow I doubt the wiring will be long enough for my bars.
How tight was the fit on your brake line? I'm thinking about ordering the +8 for mine since the +6 worked on your 12 inch bars. I have 16 inch apes, and I'm switching out the factory 5.5 inch risers for 1.5 inch risers.
Hey Pirate, I got a regular fender I'm getting ready to put on my S. What all is needed for the tail light? Is it a plug and play deal?
also, I got some Lucky Daves 14" I'm getting ready to put on and I got a brake line off eBay for fairly cheap. Around 90 bucks I think. I got a +4 so I'm hoping it's long enough.

The +6 is a perfect fit for my brake on 12" with no risers. However, the +6 on my clutch is just a smidge too long, but they don't make a +5 and +4 seemed too short. I've never run apes, but keep in mind it's not just height but also width. My bars are 28" wide. You may need to go +10.
That's what I was thinkin about cause my apes are wider than the factory drag bars. I still have the clutch cable from my street bob. That's why I got shorter risers, so it would be the same as my old bike. Guess it'd be better to have too much than not enough. Is the brake line a 1 piece design or does it come with the block/caliper lines and a seperate line for the master cyl to the block? In the pics it looks like 1 piece.
