Just bought a 2006 and up chain drive kit from deadbeatcustoms.com and was not pumped that the kit didnt come with rear sprocket bolts. Just wondering if I can reuse the pulley bolts and put them on the sprocket, or have to buy new sprocket bolts?
If they're the same size as what you would buy new, then I'd reuse them. They are not torque to yield bolts (when the bolt is torqued beyond the state of elasticity and permanently elongated) mine didn't even have loctite on them. I don't know why others are saying to buy new, but am interested and curious if there's something I don't know, especially cause the three members who responded seem to really know their **** in all of their other posts I've read.
I would reuse too, if just replacing a pulley. Since this is a chain conversion, other factors may come into play. I had buy longer bolts for my conversion.
If you use stainless bolts, make absolutely certain they're 17-4PH or equiv. and use locktite or anti-seize. Otherwise, you may either come apart unexpectedly...or pull out the hub threads on the next removal.

Because they are in fact torque to yield bolts. The Service Manual calls them screws but that is besides the point. It states clearly and equivocally in bold print to discard the old bolts and proceed with the installation with a new set .
