Default Tools used to remove exhaust flange nuts?

I've done this several times on my 99 and always seem to find myself cussing trying to get to the rear flange.

Got any tips?

1/4 inch drive 1/2 inch socket, long extension, and a inch pound torque works on both my bikes. The only nut I don't use the extension on is the top front on both bikes.

I just did mine this past week. All I used was 3/8 1/2" shallow socket, and extension and 3/8 ratchet.. The Front one gave me the most trouble and I had to use a 1/4 ratchet because it was tight. What type of bike do you have? But old exhaust taken out and new one put on in an hour, with a 15 minute beer and pizza break.

I use a 1/4 in drive 1/2 in socket on a cheap 1/4 HF wobble extension. If the heat shield blocks access, it gets cut.

I am also 1/4" drive with long extension, wobble adapter and 1/2" hex socket. The biggest PITA for me is the front lower flange nut. I have scraped the crap out of the sticker on the frame trying to reach that, especially when I had the header wrapped.

You need me to ride up there and get my little baby hands on it? (That's what she said.)
