Default Oil catch cans

after reading about venting the blow by to the atmosphere, I've decided to also install a catch can. I'm not sure how/where yet, but I'd like it black to match the bike, hard lines, and low/concealed. Anyone running one, feel free to post a pic. Just don't want the oil mist coating my bike.

A work in progress, aircraft air oil separator with catch bottle and K&N filter. I will get it finished and on the bike sometime. The catch bottle will be remotely located to shorten the assembly up enough to hide between the electrical caddy and battery box.

If I can find one that will fit behind a horn cover, I'd like to mount it where the Fxdb horn mounts, then just use the black cover I have to hide it. Then I could tap the heavy breather and hide the lines under the tank and over the throttle body.

hows the the quality of it? I've read a lot of reviews of catch cans being constructed out of cheap plastic.

this is what I'm lookin at since its small enough to fit behind a horn cover, but it doesn't have a filter, and I dunno if that's a problem or not or how the pressure releases.

In my experience with oil catch cans on bikes, all types including harleys, breather pipes made from clear braided hose work great venting into to small aluminum bottles / cans with an opening just larger than the OD of the hose. The hose needs to go up from the motor / gearbox/ valve cover/ head and then down to the catch can. This allows for the hose to drain both ways when the bike is off. The can is tie wrapped or mounted low on frame and drained when necessary. Best small aluminum catch cans are recycled from various product containers at drug store, easily repainted or polished, able to stand engine heat. Lots of people just use the up and down hose idea with vent at bottom attached to frame, etc, and clean when dirty, easy, simple, cheap and effective. My 2 cents, anyway.

Solid. Nicely chromed metal construction. Great quality. Almost a shame to powder it black.

Specs say 3x3x5 - seems a little big to fit behind a horn cover to me...?

I like the horn cover idea, but I don't think it's low enough to allow gravity to do its job. I think the gunk won't flow uphill and there's generally not enough pressure out of the vents to blow it up.
