HAHA Well thank you for that as you are correct. Most people still consider them ricers, but rice burner is more like it lol. I ran with a '88 RX7 Turbo 2 ~300hp...something about a rotary motor that is so simple its confusing ^.^
+1 I had a 72 Rx2 with a well sorted 13B and plenty of $$ in the suspension and brakes. It was the closest I've come to motorcycle fun on four wheels
Not sure how typical it is on motorcycles but its pretty common to have some blow-off from the filter once it goes into the atmosphere. A longer can in height would help eliminate the blow-off because it can contain more pressure. however, unsure of how large it needs to be in order to reduce this blow-off.
I'm sure it's the size of the can. The thing it tiny. I'm sure a proper can with a filter would help disperse the vapor better, but I can live with this. Cold weather here makes for a lot of water condensation which ends up venting when it gets hot. Once it warms up a bit here I'm sure there will be a lot less.
In my experience with oil catch cans on bikes, all types including harleys, breather pipes made from clear braided hose work great venting into to small aluminum bottles / cans with an opening just larger than the OD of the hose. The hose needs to go up from the motor / gearbox/ valve cover/ head and then down to the catch can. This allows for the hose to drain both ways when the bike is off. The can is tie wrapped or mounted low on frame and drained when necessary. Best small aluminum catch cans are recycled from various product containers at drug store, easily repainted or polished, able to stand engine heat. Lots of people just use the up and down hose idea with vent at bottom attached to frame, etc, and clean when dirty, easy, simple, cheap and effective. My 2 cents, anyway.
Gotta agree with this, simple and cheap is the best way to go for this sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with spending the money on a chromed etc catch can, but there is really no need to.
