Default Bore Kit for FXDWG

Hello fellow HDIANS. I have the 100th edition FXDWG with approximately 18K miles. I would like to upgrade and have a Big Bore Kit, possibly a 103, put on my baby. I would like to keep the cost of the parts and service cost to under $1500. This is my first HD and have no clue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Parts AND Service under 1500?
Best suggestion I have is to save your 1500 and start adding to it,, when you get around 2500 or 3000 you can start getting serious about who you want to do the job.
Think winter project 2018,,

I agree 100%. I spent about 2300 on parts for my big bore (110 to screamin eagle 117), but I did the work myself. You'll have to consider the cost of the tuner that best suits your needs, the cost of having it dyno tuned, etc. if you decide to do the work yourself, you'll have to factor in tool costs such as cam bearing removal/installer, cam holding tools, there's really a lot to think about.

If if you just want cylinders/Pistons/air cleaner, they are on eBay for 540.00.

There is another kit with cams for around 840.00 and it goes up from there.

Figure red out what you want, don't get discouraged about costs cause once you have it there's nothin like it.

One more thing, if you want a big bore, it's clear you want a significant increase in power. I would highly suggest you consider something just a little larger than a 103, because you will most likely end up wanting more power and wishing you had gone higher. 103s can still make a lot of power, but a 107 or 110 would give you a lot more power but still have street manners. I've heard of 107s making 130s hp/tq. An old friend claimed to have seen a 06 street glide with a fm 107 making 150 hp, but that's a little farfetched in my opinion (could be wrong). My point I'm making is its a good idea to consider options that may require a little more saving, but would be worth it to get something you'll be happier with in the long run

i think a good option to consider would be a s&s 107 kit for about 800-900, then buy the cam kit you think will best suit your needs for another 500-600 since you'll be half way there to do Pistons/cylinders anyway. I would suggest doing the work yourself though (assuming you know how to use basic hand tools and a couple pullers, and piston related tools. Theres enough threads/videos for you to see exactly what is involved. Search "my se117 fxdls install" and that will be very similar to what you'd be doing.

Default Big Bore

If your bike is a 2003 (100th Anniversary) it is a 88cu in motor. A 103 will require a bigger bore and a different crank...Expensive. If you want to get the work done cheap, just go for the 95 cu in, which is just the bigger bore. The first year the 96 cu in motors came out, most dealers were offering an 88 to 95 upgrade for $600.00. That was the winter of 06 because the 96 came out in August of 06.
Later down the line you can add cams and head work which will really wake up the 95...That's what I did.
