Default Big bear choppers dash blank, ignition relocate

So this will take about 2 weeks to have the whole thread complete. I jumped on a big bear choppers dash blank as I wanted something different and better than what I did previously

there are many options I know on do it yourself covers if you relocate your gauge/gauges. Fxdb, fxdl, fxdls etc...

i wanted to get something more professional and more finished looking than I was able to create.

Ok so,

Communication:
back and and forth on Instagram on the availability of the dash cover. They were available in house last week Friday but I couldn't get there till today. Nick had great communication with me even responding at 4am crack of the morning as I'm up real early too

the shop:
i thought the shop was cool. A mix of tricked out road glides, dynas, fxr's, wheelie bike and frame up choppers.

staff:
very polite and kind as well as took time on all my questions as I had all kinds of ideas I wanted to do and Kevin was explaining all the parts he has come up with. Basically I want inverted front end, motor mounts, gauge cups, seat etc...

Product:
I thought his products looked great. They have milling machines there and guys making parts in the computer and cutting them In-house. Lots of ideas flowing in that place and it's nice to see a group trying to give sport oriented parts to the community

The dash:
I like it. It's machined to fit over your fuel pump area of the tank and give you a clean look by eliminating your current dash set up. It mounts to the screws hold that your fuel pump clip and gas tank vent reside

I am still figuring everything out as I want to eliminate the vapor line on the tank so I will only have the wire cable to the fuel pump. I want the cleanest look possible

Initially the vent hose was to big on a 2015 street bob to fit in the dash black slot that is cut out for running the vent line. Then after looking at the stock hoses I have , I can use existing lines just put together in a different order to work best with the kit

Install:

1. Cut the ears of your tank that are for mounting you gauge console
2. Remove the screws and keep the rubber washers, you will need them for the install
3. Put screws through holes and then put rubber washers on other side of blank, this holds the screws in place and also is for the proper fitment of the blankcover
4. Screw it all down and make sure your vent line is routed properly under the blank and snug on the nipple. I didn't really pay attention here and ended up having had gas venting improperly and gas started collecting in the mounting holes
5. Once you screw it down it should fit Nicely

4. I screwed it down but my vent hose came out of the slot so it didn't fully seat, Then I went down the road and snapped a wheelie just for good measure and I started getting gas coming out if the screw holes

5. Screwed down now. I think I can still get it a little lower too. I will mess with it tomorrow as I'm going to plug the vapor line as the fuel cap all ready lets air in

I have already eliminated the California emissions canaster and that vent line is just venting to atmosphere anyways

I am still holding on the ignition relocation. He is making those right now. Hope within a week to get my hands on one and finish this install

i also am going to get the gauge holder with integrated dummy light in the face plate, so reviews to follow on these items as well

Is your tank all original? Mine has a horrible, ugly weld bead that runs the whole length. Yours doesn't seem to have it. Granted, my bike is a lot older. Just curious if MoCo finally got their **** together with grinding the welds.

It's there. Just not very noticeable in pics. It's like a small ridge or arch in the tank as the two sections of tank are welded together.

I'll get pics of that up too

Very sharp looking, can't wait to see the rest of the changes you have planned.
