im the same way but I ride to/from work everyday regardless of temperature as long as it isn't snowing so if I know it's gonna rain in few days I'll just wait to wash the bike.

If you use Simple Green get the Motorsports formula it's safe for aluminum (FAA approved) where the regular simple green is not and can etch the surface.
