Dyna red jack solution

Dyna red jack solution
Wanted to let ya'll know about my solution to jacking up a Dyna.
I'm an old touring rider that just bought a 2011 Wide Glide. I was surprised to find out my red jack ( don't remember if it's a Sears or HF) didn't work right on the Wide Glide. I didn't know the oil pan interfered with jacking the bike up.
I know Harley has a solution for this, but when I looked at the kit, I didn't have a lot of confidence that I would be happy with it.
So, after a little thought, I took a 2X4 (1.5" X 3.5") and cut two pieces (11" and 13"). The 13" piece is for the right (front of bike) side and the 11" piece goes on the left side of the jack.
The problem really comes in on the rear (left side of jack) of the bike where the 2X4 would have an interference fit with the oil pan if left whole.
I have the advantage of having a bandsaw at my disposal, so I ripped 1 inch off of the rear 2X4 for 8". That allows the full 1.5" of 2X4 to hit the left frame rail and allows the 1/2" left after I ripped 1" to support the right hand frame rail. That clears the pan and keeps the bike pretty level.
The problem then was the kickstand didn't allow the jack to go in far enough to reach the left bike rail. So I used the 1" X 8" piece of 2X4 that I had removed from the 11 inch board with the bandsaw and put that under the kickstand.
Worked great. Cheap and easy, just the way I like it.
