Ok, need some help. Love the looks of the black denim street bob. For me it would be great but wife thinks she is going to want to travel some day trips with me so friends say go with street glide for her comfort. I know a lot more $ for the street glide but is it worth it? Just curious how couples like riding on the Bob for some day trips.
I have both, an '06 Street Glide and an '07 Blue Denim Street Bob. We use the Bob for short trips and the Glide for longer trips. What made a difference for the the other half on the Bob is a taller back rest. She's happy, I'm happy, the ride is great.
Can't you get the Glide in flat black? I think you can in the 07's, then you have the best of both worlds, If I had the money I would of went with a Glide. My wife says my Bob is very uncomfortable, but damn it looks good, so I don't care.
No you can't get the street glide in the flat black. And I totally agree about how great the street bob looks. I dont think she will want to go more than a couple hour trip anyway.....maybe I can do the street bob. Does anyone know about the issue with the passanger seat scratching the finish on the rear fender when you go back to the single seat?
Rent yourself a Wide Glide and spend a couple days on it. If all goes well, all you need is a Street Bob with a new seat. I must admit though, Street Glides are MIGHTY tempting! They're not available in Black Denim though, just Pewter and Pacific Blue Denims. I didn't expect to like either of those colors but they both look awesome.
Yep , put the bumper pad kit on the seat itself, also added some thick weather stripping on each side of seat. Do not put the bumper pads onthe fender, looks like chit when you want to go solo. Also I recommend the quick release kit for the solo. Easy off and on, less than 2 minutes. No scratches on my fender. Oh and dont forget the quick release sissy bar, its a must. Enjoy!
I'd say if you were planning on packing the OL with any kinda frequency and for any kinda distance you're gonna want something setup for two and with bags right from the get go. I think the Street Bob is a sweet setup for solo riding.
