Seat recommendations....
I'm in search of my ideal seat. I own a few seats, but none get to the Golidlocks position. Most of the "cool" seats I see seat the rider lower, where I would prefer to go higher than stock. Ideally 1" higher and 1" or so rearward is what I'm looking for. Not many options I've come across offer this rider position. Any thoughts on a seat that meets my measurement criteria. I currently own the following....
Corbin Classic Solo - Love the seat itself. Quality is high, love the leather and it has THE best backrest I've experienced. Downside is I get hotspots on the underside of my thigh after about 3 hours in the saddle. Fore/aft position is good, but would prefer it higher up/taller.
HD Tallboy - Overall it works, but is not ideal. Aesthetically challenged, a smidge too tall and a smidge too far back. Foam/construction seems to be better than the stock seat.
Mustang Wide Touring solo w/ backrest - A good compromise, but would prefer it back a little more. Backrest sucks. I ride without it. I find it's shape and placement don't compare to the Corbin's. It's the seat I'm currently running. I find myself trying to skootch back on it a lot.
As an aside, my wife also has an FLD and she's running the HD Sundowner Solo, which is not bad. Seating position is very close to what I'm looking, but would prefer something with nicer materials and .... a Corbin backrest!
I've been doing some online research for potential seats....
Danny Gray TourIST and LowIST - Potentially fit the bill as far as placement. From the limited reviews I've read build quality is questionable.
Saddleman - From all reviews I've read, just about all their seats move the rider forward. Scratch that one...
C&C - All their seats lower the riding position. Very cool seats that don't have the position I'm looking for.
Mustang Fastback - Not sure how this one repositions the rider
Mustang Wide Tripper - May fit the bill, but again not sure how it positions the rider.
Again, any thoughts on a seat that raises the rider by 1" and back 1" would be very much appreciated.
Interesting.....thanks!

The seating is almost the stock position for an FXDC. The seat has very good build quality, the seat pan is fiberglass that sits on rubber bumpers and fits the bike well, the cover is more dark gray than black and is riveted to the pan. I find the seat comfortable and I have no complaints. longest ride so far is 260 miles, no issues. I'm 5'9", 195 lbs, 30 inch inseam.
The foam is more on the firm side and the seating area is flat but supportive, the comparison that comes to mind is the front seats in my wife's Volvo S60.
Dennis kirk has good prices and seats ship with a return shipping label, which came in handy when I returned the Danny Gray "IST" seat in exchange for the Mustang Wide Tripper.
