Default Lower Street Bob

Id like to lower my 07 street bob. Can I adjust the stock shocks or do I need to get the progressive shocks?

New to the forum and modifying bikes. I'm more familiar with modding cars so bikes is new to me and I don't want to mess around with the wrong parts.

Any direction is helpful.

Thanks

Burly slammer kit is one way to go.

Adjusting the shocks won't lower it but I believe there are lowering brackets made for the shocks by progressive. Just google Fxdb lowering kit and most of your options should pop up

Welcome to the forum!
Like mentioned above, either shorter shocks or a lowering kit. Just make sure the rear tire doesn't chew up the wiring in the rear fender.

I have some black Burley Slammers available. I put them on and took them off my 14 street bob in less than 1,000 miles. Too low for me, went to Progressive 444s. PM me if interested.

Lowering your bike looks cool and there are sacrifices you make as far as performance and ground clearance. I've had an air ride bike and now a moderately lowered bike and its a good compromise.

To make sure its for you maybe try the lowering kit first, then if you're happy with the height/clearance upgrade to better lowered shocks.

Default lowering

Id actually like to just lower the rear of the bike so the lowering links might work. I am seeing a few different brand and lengths. 1-1.75.

Any Recommendations?

This seems like the inexpensive way to do until I can do a full kit.

First hand, no. But based on what I've read I will be willing to give progressive a try when the better half gets her sg.

I'd go with shorter shock versus links/kits. The ride will be harsh with links/brackets although it's less expensive.

Obviously, you'll sacrifice ground clearance, so expect scraping things (exhaust, pegs) to occur if you ride hard.
