Dyna electrical short

After putting in the battery in my 2001 Low Rider and starting up the bike, I slid the battery cover on. The metal cover touched the positive terminal of the battery and shorted out, then the bike died and wouldn't restart. Any ideas what I may have fried? I've been told it may be the fuse, the relay or the battery.

Check your battery first then fuses then follow the wires..
That's what I did when one of my cars did that. Ended up being the solenoid on the starter.
