Wide Glide mirror vibration solved
I know this is about the millionth dyna vibration related post, but here's what went down.
I bought my glide w/16" carlini apes and decided not for me. Went with the HD street Slammer bars. After the install mirrors were useless, they were fine with the apes.
I started by checking my front motor mount. It was sagging and the isolator hump was contacting the mount. I found HD bulletin on front mount issue and shaved the front mount hump. I had the prescribed clearance. Re aligned the engine per service manual. No bueno, mirrors still useless.
I switched my poly riser bushings with some new stock rubber ones. I figured more vibration absorbtion may help. No go!
I purchased some solid brass handlebar end dampers from V-Twin manufacturing. Still can't see s#!t!
Replaced front motor mount with Predator mount, better but still unsat.
Last thing I could think of was my mirrors. I had the slotted stem script mirrors. I replaced them with solid stem ***** G. mirrors. Vibration gone. So basically I spent $500 trying to eliminate possibilities when it was those fricken mirrors the whole time.
