Ultracool oil cooler and 3Guyz filter relocation together
I've read a couple of threads mostly by mchad and tincup about using these together and am still a bit confused. Maybe y'all were talking about combining them in different ways. Is it possible to install the ultracool engine adapter and then to install the 3Guyz adapter on top of the other adapter? Like, you'd be following the installation instructions of each product in turn? Thanks.
That's basically what you'll do The Ultracool thermostatic adapter is mounted to the engine oil filter housing, and the 3Guyz adapter is mounted to the thermostatic adapter.
Dpoll995 is running both the Ultracool and the 3Guyz and it's what he did. Using both adapters does take up most of the room you'd need for routing the oil lines so you do need to get creative at times getting everything aligned and plumbed in. Dpoll995 posted images of his setup here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...il-cooler.html
Due to his forward controls he needed to go to a shorter shift rod to get the clearance he needed; I opted to delete the thermostatic adapter and plumb the Jagg oil cooler core in series with the oil filter relocation; I wasn't going to give up my extended billet shift rod
Thanks, Tin. I think I'll be trying the dual adapter trick. Something in me rebels a bit, though. With my mechanical skills, two adapters, two other devices, and 8 fittings adds up to a lot of Murphy hanging out right around the corner.
This just occurred to me -
"I opted to delete the thermostatic adapter"
A-B-C. A-Always B-Be C-Cooling. Always be cooling. ALWAYS BE COOLING.

Exactly The fittings on the 3Guys kit are first rate push-loc fittings; I used a Jagg oil cooler so I can't tell you how the Utracool is setup; hopefully Mchad or Dpoll995 can tell you about them.
For the 3Guyz kit use a proper hose cutter, that Parker push-loc hose is tough stuff. When you go to put the fittings on the hose put a drop of oil in the hose, and put some oil on the end of the fitting itself. Set the fitting on the floor or a solid work bench, then carefully align the end of the hose on the fitting end and then in one quick motion you've got to push the hose on the fitting and bottom it out; don't stop mid-way or you may not get it moving again
I've never had an issue with the 3Guyz setup at all; the Jagg took a few upgrades to get it how I wanted it but I've got no concerns over leaks at all.

My setup ended up looking like this:
Hey, that's a nice looking setup. By the way, that clutch cable clamp on the frame, do you remember if that is 1 3/8" or 1 1/2" diameter? I can't seem to get an accurate measurement. Thanks.

Untracool uses AN fittings. As long as you tighten them enough, but not too much, they won't leak. They had some issues with earlier models but changed suppliers and are solid since. Both adapters are bone dry after about 2k miles.

Check out Motion-Pro as well. Their clamps are pretty trick & not big $.
