What's the dumbest/silliest thing you have done while servicing/working on your Dyna?
I can't think of anything at the moment but I'm sure I will chime in later when I remember. What's your story?
Edit: Not a Dyna but I was trying to put my 500 lb Kawasaki on the jack stands and the bike fell on its right side. WHAM!!!! Surprisingly, not a single bit of damage- not even a tiny scratch. This was right after my stroke though, and I was still weak.
Putting the intake gaskets/flanges on backwards was a pretty stupid mistake, but by far the dumbest thing I've done was leaving the primary gear locking tool (the one that looks like little steps) in the primary and buttoning it all up. Made a hell of a racket and a terrible mess, but didn't damage anything other than I wasted a quart of fluid.
Thought I drained the engine oil, turns out I didnt, overfilled with amsoil. Had to drain all my new oil and refill with more amsoil, an expensive mistake. After that, the bike sounded like ****. Valve train noise was much worst. Went back to mobil 1.

I forgot to fill a 95 Z28 with oil during an oil change. Went to go to the store, and remembered halfway to the store that the car didn't have any oil in it, drain plug was still out. I turned around real quick and crept home. No noticeable damage...whew!
re-used old fork oil after doing a quick fork seal change on the new bike (came down too hard from a wheelie), and put it back in through the drain plug in the bottom of the fork leg because i couldn't be bothered to do a proper fork oil change the night before a 300 mile ride. 10k service is coming soon, gonna go ahead and change the fork oil, the right way...
I almost dropped it off the Jack cause I put too much pressure trying to torque an axle nut and the stupid blocks weren't staying in place. Luckily my better half noticed, cause I wouldn't have.
