Thinking about changing up my rear shocks - anyone out there with either Ohlins or Racetech wanna chime in? Ractech is pretty close to me here in LA and I love what they did for my forks, but obviously Ohlins' reputation is very high. Thoughts?
Go read up. Tons of opinion threads on this if u search ohlins or racetech. Your question should be anyone ride on racetechs and ohlins, and how do they compare to each other. Now that's a worthy question for a new thread.
Been very happy with my Ohlins for many years. Can't compare them to anything else except Progressives, which sucked, but not as bad as stock shocks.
Give Howard a call at Motorcycle Metals and have a conversation about what you want to do.
I don't think you can go wrong with either. I would call both places and see what they recommend for your riding style. Figure out a cost for both, then make your decision based on those factors (cost, warranty, customer service, etc...).
I bought my bike with Ohlins installed front and rear. I cant compare them to the stock shocks but I can say they are a very nice riding shock.
I came off a 2002 Yamaha fz1 with a Penske rear shock and traxxion dynamic front fork cartridges. That bike handled well.
Cant really compare but I do have more confidence in my cornering when riding my Fat Bob with the suspension adjusted correctly.
