Default Would it be worth it?

I'm thinking about getting some Ohlins for my RGC. I was talking to Howard about them the other day. And I got to thinking...there aren't any dealers/service guys around the area. I work 7&7 so I thought about goin something with them on my off hitch. Now, I'm not looking to take business from others on the forum here, but there are quite a few bikes in the Lafayette area and wondered if you guys would think it would be worth a shot? I would have a lot to learn of course...but just a thought.
Thanks for any opinions.

Are you concerned about getting your Ohlins serviced, when they need it? If so keep your current shocks and swap them over so you can send your Ohlins away for a few days, when the time comes.

Which raises an question - what sort of servicing is required? I'm considering getting Ohlins separated shocks, I understand nothing lasts forever, but your answer got me wondering if there's some required periodic maintenance, or you were just saying at some point they just need a rebuild.

Most shocks are not serviceable, we simply throw them away when they are shot. Ohlins (and some other brands) can be serviced; the Ohlins USA website recommends servicing their shocks every 12-15 k miles.

Your correct nothing lasts forever, I purchased a set of 2-2b shocks from Howard, I sent them back at 40k to have him go through them and replace fluid and seals. I believe that was his recommendation when I first bought them. They came back just like new. The shocks still operated fine before the rebuild but I believe in preventative maintenance. It was March so I did not miss much riding time during the 2 week period.

No,No,No....Thats not what Im asking at all. I was thinking to start a side business and wondered if ya'll would think it would be worth it for me to do so since there's nobody else around this area who does this?
If you want to know whats required about servicing them....go to the website. Im sure you can find it somewhere.
