I have a 2005 FXDLI 88. It was running great, I moved from Fla to Arkansas. As I loaded it into the trailer I lost traction on my foot and it dumped over. It hit the front fender and crushed it on the trailer door. I started it and it ran rough. I was on a time limit so we pushed it up the ramp and locked it down. I have a 0 deductible so they are paying for a tow and the fender. The adjuster said he would have it checked to see if the dump did something to make it run rough. I tried to start it a couple of times and it was snorting and back firing and then started but ran rough. Any ideas what could have happened in the dump?

Either jarred some sentiment loose and it clogging the fuel system
Knocked something loose and it making intermittent electrical connection (ignition system)
Not an HD mechanic either, but that's never stopped me
When the bike went down, did she fall on the left or right side? Could the A/C have been hit in any way? It almost sounds like an air leak with your description of the backfiring and rough running.
If it did go down on the right and the A/C was struck the intake manifold seals could have been damaged; also if it did go down on the right also check your exhaust, the exhaust port gaskets could be allowing air in to the system...

went down on the left side so nothing hit the exhaust or the AC intake. When it runs is sounds like its clattering and vibrates excessive.
Could be something super simple like a spark plug wire got pulled loose. Or maybe some fuel drained into the cylinders and you've got a fouled plug.
Can you narrow down where the clattering is coming from?
It’s carburated right? If so, I’m almost positive that it’s flooded. Fuel issue in the carb. It’s common with any carburated motor when tipped or turned upside down. Might have to drain the bowl of the carb. While you’re at it, check all plug wires and plugs. Hope this helps
