I found one of these for $150 brand new local which peaked my interest so I think I am going to pull the trigger and see how she runs.
Be careful...by “ one of these” which one do you mean? If it’s a PV, most likely it’s been paired to a bike already making it useless to you, but it’s your money, $150 is not even close to what they sell for, makes me suspicious

incorrect information.
A paired pv IS NOT useless. A second ( 3rd, 4th, ...nth) license is $199. So that makes the $150 (if a pv and not "brand new") device a $349 device and it is still $50-150 cheaper than full price. A POS fuelpak is worthless once paired (unless Vance and Greed changed that business model).
I am looking at a Power Commander V and it was for a 10 Fat Bob, I was under the assumption you can just download the new map for your bike and it should work fine. Is that not the case with these? They said it was brand new and never used on the bike, comes with everything plus the usb cable.
Cvaria was referring to the Power Vision; flash tuners marry/lock to the ECM. With the PV you can buy a new license and add another bike, I believe up to 6 on one Power Vision. With the Fischer-Price3 you throw it in the trash if you want to move it to another bike
The PCV won't have those issues, it doesn't lock to the ECM...
Roger that, thanks! Sounds like $150 is worth it then just to see how she runs.
read up on the powercommander and watch a few videos so you have a clear understanding of what you are bargaining for. the power commander is a piggyback tuner that must be left on the bike. maps must be loaded on to it via pc/mac. very differnt from a power vision.

True but if you remove it, the ECM will revert back to Stock Configuration not being attached to the ECM .. Not very nice to one that purchases it in that condition ..
So I scored the local one for $150 and its just like new. So now I have the correct map installed and I am ready to go and install the module but there isn't much space under the seat, so I wanted to see what folks did with theirs. I noticed my '07 plugs are different than the newer 2012+ models that have all the install videos...

Is it a PCV or a PCIII ?...they Install in slightly different locations.
There are Installation Instruction PDFs on the PowerCommader site for your Model.
