I love my Wide Glide. It is 14 years old and I love it but I am getting closer to buying another bike. Now that Harley has stopped making Dynas, which bike will my fellow Dyna lovers favor?
I like the lightweight minimalist look and feel.
Like to hear your opinions. I'm leaning towards the Heritage.
I've been contemplating the idea of what I would buy if I was going to buy again. I'm not going to buy soon, as my bike suits me as is atm.
After going to the Dealership and looking at the new bikes I've narrowed it down to these in no particular order:
1: used Late Model Dyna Low Rider or Wide Glide with low miles
2: New Softail LowRider
3: New Softail Break out
4: Low Mileage 2007 or later SuperGlide and "trick it out".

When it comes to Harley Davidson's it will only be old iron; this '13 is the last new HD I'll ever buy, HD builds nothing I want. If I were to buy a new ride it will be a Ducati. The death of the Dyna removed me from the HD new purchaser pool.
That won't be a popular opinion for some, but it is what it is...

I couldnt agree more. When the time comes, Ill never buy any new models from Harley. My next one will be a Super Glide Sport for sure
I had a Heritage, and my wife has a Dyna. I was looking at a LowRider, when I saw the Fat boy lo. I like the look and the ride. But, I wouldn't mind having a LowRider if I had the room for another bike.
I did test ride the Heritage Classic and found it impressive. However, I prefer plainer bags and the screen caused me a lot of buffeting at highway speeds; so if I was buying a new Harley I'd probably go for the Deluxe and kit it out the way I like it. However, I'm not sure I trust the M8 yet, so I'm happy to have just purchased a low mileage 2014 Low Rider; I like it so much that I'm hoping it'll last me for many, many years.
i cant see myself buying any of the new models. Of course I already have 2 16s, which are setup perfectly for me, and do anything and everything id want to do on 2 wheels.
MAYBE, if I eventually end up in a rural area I might pick up a r1200gs or another semi-enduro, but for the road, I love what I got. If eventually they fall apart from all the salt corrosion that people tell me is inevitable, then Ill cross that bridge. But for now, theres nothing out there I need or want.
This in no way answers the original question, so... sorry...
But... I hope to keep my '00 FXDX for quite some time, as I really love it. I also have no intention of getting rid of my '06 Speed Triple. Instead of new bike shopping, I just plan on spending some money (and time) every year modding each bike a little. That way they always seem fresh, I'm never spending what a new bike costs all at once, and I'll continue to love them both for years...
However, I would really like to ADD two bikes (not replace), although I don't really have the room or the funds to do so. But if I did, I would love to build an old skool, rigid digger frame, flat-side shovel chopper, and I would like a high-end, European liter-class dedicated sportbike (right now it would be an Aprilia RSV4 Factory)... But that's just idle dreaming.
Now, since it's fifty outside and it's not a work day, I'm heading out to the garage to remove some bits from the FXDX that are going out for powdercoating...
