I was hoping anyone had an idea of what could have happened to my 2015 FXDB... I was trying to start her on a cold day and ended up melting the positive battery terminal, to cold to crank. Battery was shot, so replaced it. Problem: Turn the ignition on, check. Push the run key, (pump comes on to prime, then shuts off) check. Try and start her up, no go. Instead of cranking up, I hear what I believe still sounds like the pump trying to prime and prime for as long as I hold the start button. After holding it for several seconds, I get a red light in the display saying theres an issue. Any one??
Sounds like your battery terminal bolt was loose. Happens a lot. Check to make sure it didn't blow any fuses when it happened. As for the noise, are you sure it's the fuel pump, or is it possibly the starter not having enough power to kick out? How many miles are on it? If the starter isn't making any noise at all, start by checking power to the starter with a bolt meter, and make sure your ground is clean and tight.
This is is most likely related to or caused by the battery issue. Could very easily be a fuse that blew because of it. Out of curiousity, see if your turn signals and horn work. Just curious if any other switches aren't working, the module may not be getting the start message.
