sorry guys been super busy at work and havent had the time to properly sit down again and start testing. I was informed incorrectly as to the year. I found out it was a 2005 after running the VIN. Yes it is efi. As stated above all I have done is remove the PC3 with no change in problem. And yes I thought about leaving it connected but I have no working laptop to connect it, so just to eliminate the possibility of it being the PC3 I just disconnected it. So I still have the problem.
You can plug back in the pc3 without a laptop.I would try reving it and see if its charging at higher rpm.
He guys. Thanks for your patience. Finally got around to doing some more diagnostics. I now see the value of the breakout box for sure. I dont know how anyone would be able to probe voltages without one. Ohmd cool and it checked out. Spark plug wires ohm out good. Now I started out with the front cylinder not getting spark. I took that plug out and looked practically new. I took the plug out of the cylinder that was firing and it was on the verge of being fouled. Black soot and crusty on the ground side. So I scraped and cleaned that one and regapped both then put the one that was almost fouled in the cylinder that wasnt firing and walla. I cranked up for a few seconds and I shut down and put my hand on both exhaust pipes coming out from each cylinder. So the front was now warm and the rear still cool. It couldnt be that easy could it lol? Ive never heard of a spark plug just failing, even if it was over 100mph. I came across dynos this bike had before I moved and for the program map that was chosen was 102hp @ 95mph.
According to this bike description in the notes of this dyno this bike is a 95 and has KB flat tops, Andrews 26G gear drive cams, SS gear drive, Baisley oil spring, PC3USB, and V&H pro pipes. So Im hoping with a couple new plugs she might be back to normal (crossing fingers), and if so what to do with the PC3. Put it back on? Would the map still be loaded on it?
Yep that was it. I ohmd the plugs and was less than 1k ohm difference. The electrode on the bad plug was 8550 ohms and the operational one was 7640 ohms. I didnt ohm the new plugs as I was excited to find out if that would fix it. Ill do it this weekend. Thanks for everyones help 🤙
