Getting ready for riding season here in SE Michigan (eventually). I can't seem to get a definitive answer on whether or not to lube my clutch cable (2008 Superglide). Not sure if it's teflon or not. What are folks doing regarding this topic?
Lubing the clutch cable is a part of my winter maintenance every year. I've always used left over transmission lubricant and drool it in to the cable from the top. I figure the bottom of the clutch cable has transmission lubricant in it, so I can't see how it's going to hurt it
Dont forget the lever pivots and adjuster. I like Boeshield for stuff like the adjuster and dry lubes (like Dri-Slide or DuPont Chain Saver) for exposed pivots like at the lever. It doesn't collect grit and crap like oils do.

Yup, cable maintenance is important. It also allows visual inspection of things. OP- how many miles do you have on your cable now? If >60,000 then you might look at picking up a factory cable, for when yours develops 2 ends.
Another way to extend your cable life would be to reduce the stress on it. Maybe a Burley EZ boy clutch device could help extend cable life.
All done. Thanks for everybody's input. Now, how do we make the weather warm up?
By moving to California! I am enjoying (well enjoying as much as I can from an office) the nice 80° weather we are having. While I am stuck in here today, it is going to be in the 80s all weekend, so I have a couple good rides to look forward to.
