Anyone know why some of the 06 bikes (like mine) have that stupid canister and some don't? I got mine through military sales so I assumed it was some kind of [:@] California[:@] requirement and it had to be there to be 50 state compliant (I would happily waive this requirement by promising to NEVER EVER go to california.) BUT, not all the 06 bikes have em, so what the hell? I know I saw a detailed thread about removing it, but are there any consequences to doing so? Warranty? Performance?
Thanks again for the link, I planned to use it when and if I pull this thing, mostly I just wanted to know for sure if it was a california thing and if there were any problems with just taking it off. It looks horrible.
The fuel evap canister is harmless to performance. It is meant toreduce the brown cloud that you live, breath and work in. (Hydrocarbons)However, if you find yourself getting disgusted with the smogone day, be sure to take a good longlook in a mirror before complaining 'cause you're part of the problem.

Couldn't quite make out if you have one on your bike.
