No to is it unusual. And no to is there a cheaper option. There isn't an auto parts store that carries them. The o2 sensor is just a simple Bosch but the connector is the pain
If you can get to the o2 sensor with a o2 sensor socket, that's the best. If you can't I bought the appropriate sized box end wrench and cut a slot out of the actual box end part for the wiring
Does anyone know the stock size? Been seeing 18 mm and 22 mm which one is stock?
The stock o2 sensor is a 12 mm narrow band (the threaded portion). I think a 14 mm open end wrench or o2 sensor socket is needed to remove, but I could be wrong on this front. Its been a few years since I messed with my exhaust.
Thanks to all who replied. I think you dlporter are correct, its a 14mm.
Went to the local auto parts place and all they had was the 22mm socket, so I bought a cheap 14mm deep socket and I am going to cut a slot ....
who would have thought finding a O2 sensor socket would be so difficult....lots for the 18mm one that takes the 22mm socket...no one carries the smaller sized one....I guess that is why Harley can charge $300+ for the tool
