Look at what multihdr gave you. Do that. Then ease it out for a ride. Lifters need time to clear themselves of trapped air bubbles. Maybe till you get to normal running temp. 15 or 20 miles. they should be as quiet as they are going to get at that lifter pre load. You decide from there if you need to load the pushrod cup a little further down. I urge you to research what the total lifter travel is. Likely about .200. Get too close or beyond that and you'll have a valve calamity.

Nothing to really research...

He's using S&S lifters after removing the travel limiters. S&S lists .125" as a preload for their lifters.

That being said, commonly used preload range for those lifters is .125-.140 (.200 should be their total travel)

Everything I’ve read and researched says this is 100% accurate. I’ve researched a lot especially since posting this thread and getting all the links to other informative threads. Luckily most of these guys know all of this off the top of their head where I have zero experience with adjustables. Anytime I’ve done engine work I’ve always just used screamin eagles imperfect fit pushrods.

Well first things first, thank you to everyone who offered advice, it’s greatly appreciated. I adjusted the pushrods 20 flats and took it for a 10 mike ride.

I still have a little noise left but it’s not too bad. It basically sounds like lifters do when you first start up in the cold. Which brings me to my next question, can I adjust them any further, if so how much? Assuming I’m not gonna destroy anything I’d like to adjust them one more flat, see how it sounds, and go from there. I don’t think I’d have to adjust them more than 2 or 3 flats, but would like your input before I proceed. I’m gonna ride to/from work tonight (about 65 miles each way) but want to get this perfect. Thanks again everybody.
