I’m nervous about dropping nearly $1000 on pipes i can’t find video clips on or anyone with first hand install experience.
short shots are going to hurt your performance, not help it. Any 2-1 is a better option. I personally run the fat cat on my lrs. Another good choice is the road rage but I don’t care for the appearance. Different strokes for different folks. It’s worth mentioning that the fat cat or road rage are going to give you the best performance gains over anything else.

Nick knows what hes, talking about. You paid a premium for that bike, don't cheapen out and put Dollar General pipes on it.
I bought my lrs as soon as they released the 2017 models so most of the manufacturers didn’t know the exhausts from 2016 models would fit. Vance and Hines was the only company that listed anything for the 2017 lrs. I knew I wanted the fat cat as I had heard them on a few different bikes and was impressed with the dyno charts I saw but I didn’t want to wait 2 months for d&d do figure it out.
I told the hd parts manager just to order short shots so I at least had the sound I was after. He told me he wouldn’t run v&h if they were given to him. Luckily I was smart enough to wait cause I couldn’t be happier with my fatcat and the more I researched v&h or talked to people who have had their products, the more I realized how bad they really are. No offense to those who run v&h, this is just what I’ve learned.
Look at dyno sheets for bikes with v&h, then look at d&d or basanni. That’ll tell you everything you need to know.
Well i pulled the trigger on the V&H high output 2 into 1 short #46541.
I had short shots on my (48) and they fit awesome and sounded great. After reading post after post i decided i should go with a 2into1 on the fxdls so decided to go with v&h for fit and finish.
