Having an issue today with my 2008 FXDL. The low beam quit working. High beam still works. Got out a spare bulb and changed it. No luck. Checked both bulbs and the filaments looked ok. Tested with a meter and that looks ok. So I test at the plug. Yellow shows me 12v. White shows 12v when I switch to high beams. So it should work, yes? Plug in a bulb. Turn it on. Only the high beam. So I check the power on the plug again with the bulb in and bike on. Now the low side is dead. Unplug the bulb and turn the bike off and back on, the low side is back at the plug. Until I plug in a bulb.
Yeah,, clean the socket,, it's 10 years old,, make sure there's no corrosion, or at least look, make sure the spring works.
It's kind of common maintenance for a bike.
Uhm,, some spray, some wiggling, some Q-tips.(?) Care?
It's a vehicle that endures the environment a little different then a car

Checked the socket, Clean as a whistle. Looks near new. Sprayed it with electronics cleaner to be sure. Pulled the connectors out or a better look to be sure I'm getting tight, solid connections.
