So I just got this rigid solo rack for my bob and was looking to install it. What is the easy way to get this thing on here with out scratching the freaking crap out of my denim black fender? For any one that has installed one of these themselves, any help would be appreciated. It looks pretty straight forward but I am just worried about messing up that fender because we all know they ain't cheap. I did call the dealer and they said it would probably be an 1 to 2 hours of labor. Thanks
I used painters masking tape all along the side of the fender and the inside rail of the rack to prevent scratching. I also remember needing a third hand to help spread apart the rack and keep the fender aligned. Once I got the rack installed I tore away any exposed tape. Definitely a DIY job, couldn't imagine paying for 1-2 hours
labor.

Reason: grammar
I cut up an old T-shirt and used that between rack and fender. I also had to spread the the mounting tabs of the rack out just slightly when I got it to help clear the fender without rubbing.
I put solo luggage rack on Wide Glide. Also removed sissy bar that comes with bike. Sissy bar was bigger job. Removed blinkers, fender, seat. Disconnected wiring to tail lights to run wiring inside fender.

That's a cool rack. I wonder if one like that would fir a Switchback?
OK Thanks guys for all the replies. I finally got around to installing the rack. I put the painters tape on the sides of the fender and used zip ties to hold the rack on the frame while I lined up the fender. If you just take your time you don't end up scrapping the fender.
