I use spray brake cleaner to rinse off the oil of the bike frame and tools I used for the fluid changes., get the cheap stuff.

I wouldn’t worry about it, if the manual sez 2.5 quarts, then go with it. Are you checking your bike the way the manual sez to.

yes i am. I read the manual several times and have done both hot n cold checks. Im not worried about it. I know my oil level is at a good level. I was just curious on the hot tempertures affecting cold oil checks. But other than that my bike is in top condition and rides perfect.
