02 DWG primary overfilled

02 DWG primary overfilled

Did a clutch adjustmeant and after two days primary oil is leaking. Drain plug and outer primary gasket look good. Oil seems to be coming from behind the inner primary but I can’t see where. If overfilled will the oils be pushed out of an overflow or did I blow a gasket?

If there is an overflow, that’s news to me. Of course I could be wrong, but it sounds like a blown inner primary gasket.

Do the old smell test on the oil, smell the transmission oil then smell the primary oil. I use a gear oil in the trans. and a motor oil in primary. Two distinct smells. How much oil did you put in the primary? My 02 and 05 Dynas take 26 ozs. and that's the bottom of the clutch pack. The primary isn't a pressure oiling system, possible the new oil washed away some deposits around the IPB. I mentioned the trans oil, over the years and countless shifts the seal around the shift shaft going into transmission may have developed a leak. That oil will migrate to the bottom of the primary case.
