Nice write up Ive been meaning to use these over my switch control wires but I always had an issue pulling the wires thru them without a wire or two going thru a split in the weave.
Good tips. We think alike. I also made a custom neck plug and went to great lengths to minimize and clean up the wiring. It's tedious work that most will never notice but it satisfies me.
The funny thing is that most "will" notice the bike looks like a cleaner set up but they don't quite know why, those subtle changes add up to a big difference. For an example; I put my car in a car show and watched two judges argue on what year my car was. They finally agreed that it was a later model but there was something different about it and they couldn't figure out what it was. They focused on the obvious modifications, and never noticed that I hid all the wiring.
I got my braided sleeving that I ordered from Amazon, turned out to be the tight weave so I didn't double layer it like I did before. After I put it on I pulled the braid tight length wise to snug it up, only problems are it looks a little lumpy as I twisted the wires together and the braid is really hugging the wiring, and melting the ends with a hot knife might be better than a cigarette lighter. Tried to roll the ends in like I did before, but this braid is a lot stiffer and would just unravel.

Bundle the ends of the wires together with some tape or use split loom.
